#mArSaTaK : the mArSaTaK irc chat channel

The official #mArSaTaK irc channel is now open. You can access it throught java applet or any standard irc software, such as MIRC.

The #mArSaTaK channel is hosted by Rezium and can be reached on irc.rezium.net:6667 (once connected just type in /join #marsatak).

If you are a guest, you still can come and chat with us. If you are using the java applet, your nick will first be mArSgUeStxx, but you'll be abble to change it to whatever by using the /nick command (e.g. /nick new_nick) or by just entering your new nick in the change nick box on the lower right of the applet.

If you are a registered user, your mArSaTaK nick will be used by default when logged @ mArSaTaK.

If you want, you can protect your nick on the channel using the command :

/msg NickServ REGISTER password yourmail@example.com

This way no one will be able to still it from you.
You'll then need to run this command after joining the server in order to be identified :

/msg NickServ IDENTIFY password

To automate registered nick login with the java applet, go to your profile and type in the "IRC Chat Room Commands" box :

/msg nickserv identify password;
/join #marsatak

For now, I only allow to chat on #mArSaTaK through the java applet, but this could change in the future.

You can start a direct private chat with any logged user in the channel by double clicking on its nick in the nick list.

For the java applet to work you need to install (if not already done) the Sun Java Runtime Environment. Normally, your brownser should propose to auto install it, if not you can install it from here.
The java applet also works with MS Java, but I recommend the Sun version.

And before all, you must follow the irc Netiquette rules !

#mArSaTaK : Le channel de chat irc de mArSaTaK

Le channel #mArSaTaK est ouvert. Vous pouvez y accéder par l'applet java ou avec n'importe quel logiciel irc comme MIRC.

Le channel #marsatak est hébergé par Rezium et peut être atteint sur irc.rezium.net:6667 (une fois connecté entrez /join #marsatak).

Si vous êtes un invité, vous pouvez aussi utiliser le chat. Si vous utilisez l'applet java pour ce faire, votre pseudo sera mArSgUeStxx, mais vous pourrez en changer en utilisant la commande /nick (i.e : /nick nouveau_pseudo) ou en entrant votre nouveau pseudo directement dans la case "Modifier le nick" (en bas à droite de l'applet).

Si vous êtes un utilisateur enregistré et logué, votre pseudo mArSaTaK sera utilisé par défaut.
Si vous le voulez, vous pouvez protéger votre pseudo sur le channel en utilisant la commande :

De cette façon, personne ne pourra utiliser votre pseudo à votre place. Vous devrez alors,pour être identifié à chaque connection au serveur, utiliser la commande :

Vous pouvez également automatiser la procédure de login de pseudo protégé avec l'applet java en entrant dans la case "IRC Chat Room Commands" de votre profile.:

Pour l'instant, il n'est pas possible de joindre d'autres channels que #mArSaTaK avec l'applet java, mais cela pourrait évoluer dans le futur.

Vous pouvez démarrer un conversation privée avec tous les utilisateurs présents en double cliquant sur leur pseudo dans la lise des pseudos.

Pour que l'applet java fonctionne, vous devez installer Sun Java Runtime Environment (si cela n'est pas déjà fait).
Normalement, votre navigateur devrait vous proposer de le faire automatiquement. Si ce n'est pas le cas, vous pouvez l'obtenir directement ici.
L'applet java fonctionne également avec MS java, mais je vous conseille la version SUN.

Et avant toutes choses, vous devez respecter la Netiquette irc !
